Miss Minty Fresh

On Tuesday I’ll be back in the city I love.  And I’ll be there (or in the vicinity) for a full month!

This is a working vacation for me, a time to focus on my work, build relationships with my client(s), and pursue some really exciting projects, both worky-style and fun-style.

I’m traveling without Kai, though.  I don’t think I’ve completely registered that I’m going to be away from my little guy for nearly a month.  As the manager of the circus daycare put it today, “He’ll be fine.  I don’t know about you, though.”

It’s true.  He will be just fine.  And so will I (I hope).  If you’ve been reading, you know that I’ve had a rather rough post-partum period, and I think that a little time to regain comfort with myself is absolutely critical.  What better way than to surround myself with friends who are family in my favorite place in the world?

Again, far too much time was spent seeking out wifi (for worky stuff, you see) instead of seeing familiar faces and places.  I definitely didn’t get to see everyone who I should have.  This always friggin’ happens.  Next time I’m in town, I’m taking the week off.  Even freelancers need vacations.

My favorite mural (a pixelated autumn scene) which has been tragically covered by a new building.  (#$%!).  My dear friend Kate had engagement pictures taken there to remember it by.  

Every time we return to Philly it is increasingly heartbreaking to leave.  With our lifestyle being what it is, we don’t know when we’ll ever have a living space without wheels.
